Land Management / Weed Abatement Ordinance Compliance
The City’s Weed Abatement Program is governed by the City Municipal Code. Property owners in Riverside County are required to maintain their property in a clean and safe condition for fire prevention throughout the entire year. This responsibility is especially important during the fire season, from March through September, to keep the community safe. The City Fire Department is responsible for inspecting vacant property over one acre. Every year, weed abatement inspections will begin after Spring, to allow property owners adequate time for maintenance.
If the property is found to be in violation of the Municipal Code, the property owner will be notified by mail to promptly address the violation. If no visible attempt is made to clean-up the property within 15 days, the City will abate the property and bill the property owner for the abatement cost, plus an administrative fee for non compliance. You can also call the code enforcement in your city for weed ordinance and specifications. If your property needs clearing, call licensed landscape contractors today for your free estimates.
